Abimelech? is truly a sad story. Greed. Division. Murder. Pigheadedness. Not following a parent’s instructions. All lead to a sad end. For what? Abimelech’s story says something to us. What is God saying to us in this story? What do we learn about God? About ourselves? About our community? Where is the grace in this story?

God Commands, You Refuse... What Happens?

Judges 4 tells the story of Deborah and Jael. Judges 5 is the poetic version of the same story. The story of Deborah the judge is both sad and celebrative. But again this is not the story of individual people. It is the story of God’s gracious actions as He gifts and empowers His chosen people to do His work of spreading the gospel message. What happens when you are called and commanded by God to do His work? but you say “No!” God’s work will be completed with whomever He picks for the task. If God calls you, He will equip you. If God calls you, His hand will guide you and the process. Do not fear!

Judges 3 - Ehud: A Message from the Lord... by a Left-Harder

Ehud is best known for what? Why would this matter? What makes him so special? Why is he called to be the saviour for Israel at this particular time? How does he point us to Jesus? What does this story tell us about the state of Israel? About the state of our world? Or my life? Ehud was daring. He was bold. He was following the command of the Lord in being called as judge.
