Job 42:7-17

Rev. Richard Bodini - November 5, 2013

Stories, fairy tales, romantic movies, adventures all pretty much end with “and they lived happily ever after.” Job’s story ends the same way. How does that make you feel? I would agree! We are left with numerous questions! All of which go unanswered. Most of which begin with “why.” All of which point to things outside the realm of our understanding and knowledge. There is hope in this text. It just requires some faith and trust. Like so much in our lives.

1 Corinthians 11:17-34; 10:14-17 -- "Remember and Proclaim the One Body of Our Lord Jesus Christ"

Rev. Richard Bodini - November 24, 2013

Lord’s Supper. Holy Communion. Eucharist, in the Greek εὐχαριστέω (pronounced: eucharisteō). Last Sunday night we took a quick look at the history of the sacrament stemming from the Passover meal and the early church, and then through the Church Fathers, the Middle Ages, the Reformation, up to today. This morning we will take a close look at 1 Corinthians 11, the Lord’s Supper text. I’ve read through this text many times? but not as slowly as I should. Grammar, word choice, context, and not jumping to a quick conclusion are all important in understanding what Paul might or might not be saying. I hope and pray that you will be enlightened and blessed with this morning’s teaching.
