Luke 11:2-4 -- The God Who Meets Our Needs

Pastor Ben Gresik - September 6, 2020

We’re finishing a series on the Lord’s Prayer this morning. Have you ever asked someone for something and then discovered that they were just waiting for you to ask so they could give it to you? As we get to the end of the Lord’s Prayer, we’ll discover that God has been doing just that. He wants us to ask but before we do, he has already promised to give them to us.

Genesis 2:4b-7, 15-17, 3:1-8 -- Breaking the Easiest Rule

Pastor Ben Gresik - September 13, 2020

Sometimes it’s hard to know what God wants for us, but Adam and Eve did not have that problem. They had one purpose (to work in the garden) and one very clear rule in life (“Don’t eat from that tree”) and somehow, they still messed it up. We’ll talk today about how we tend to choose our own way over God’s, and how God has already taken care of this through the work of Jesus. We’ll also look at how that can help us as we try to discern how to live our lives today.

Genesis 15:1-6 -- Unfulfilled Promises

Pastor Ben Gresik - September 20, 2020

Before he had his name changed, God made a promise to Abram that he would become a great nation and a blessing to all people. But after hearing that promise, Abram waited another 25 years before seeing the beginnings of it coming true. As we look at Abraham's story today we'll consider how we can keep faith in God's promises when it seems like we're waiting.

James 1:19-25 -- Restless Response

Pastor Ben Gresik - September 27, 2020

This morning we’re taking a detour from our readings in the Old Testament to look at a passage from James. James is a very practical book that’s full of wisdom for living the Christian life in a practical way. In our passage today we’ll look at how receiving God’s word or receiving faith in Jesus is something that should transform our lives in an obvious way. This passage is a good opportunity for us to reflect on how this is true in our own lives.
